What started out as a one-room cabin in 1840 as a small trading post, has now become the 9th largest city in the nation. Dallas is the #1 visitor destination in TX. Main Attractions
The prestigious Dallas Museum of Art was originally established in 1903. The Museum has collections covering everything from ancient Mediterranean and Asian art to works by modern greats like Pablo Picasso and Jackson Pollock. Permanent collections of African, European and American art and special exhibitions are on display.

 

History buffs won’t want to miss The Sixth Floor Museum, located on the sixth floor of the Dallas County Administration Building (formerly the Texas School Book Depository) the location from which Oswald fired those infamous shots. The historic exhibition chronicles the life, times, assassination and legacy of President John F. Kennedy.

 

Dallas World Aquarium, a 22,000-gallon tunnel with a panoramic view of underwater reef life is the centerpiece of this popular aquarium. The aquarium also runs a preservation program involving young green sea turtles.

 

The 1860s Living Farmstead is a recreated farm portraying life in north Texas during the opening years of the Civil War. The Farmstead representing the typical domestic & agricultural outbuildings that existed on farms during the mid-19th century.

 

Shopping
Dallas is the pinnacle of world-class shopping. They “live large” here, and shopping is an occasion, a social activity, entertainment, and a place to wear your best duds as you mingle.

 

Western wear, cowboys boots (Texas-style), upscale clothing, and accessories make interesting window shopping as well. This is also the home of the well-known Neiman Marcus, where luxury goods abound.

The Downtown Arts District is a upbeat historic area that includes dozens of restaurants including the Hard Rock Cafe, specialty shops, spas, galleries, and affluent hotels.
